A subscription renews by UPI AutoPay, or by a card that allows repeat charges. A credit card does. Many debit cards do not, and the bank then answers "technical error" instead of saying so; UPI has no such limit. With UPI, a renewal above ₹15,000 asks for your UPI PIN.
